A celebration of the extensive Liberty archive, the Ashford Collection offers a contemporary take on a curated selection of our most cherished and historical botanical artworks. Featuring dense florals and foliage, trailing branches and stems, and a plethora of hand-painted flowers and watercolour blooms that balance a graphic, stylised edge with Liberty’s signature hand-crafted aesthetic, each design is meticulously printed on our crisp Shantung Silk – a textured, slightly slubbed cloth with a luminous finish that lends itself to structured evening and occasionwear and sophisticated, modern tailoring.

Editor's Notes

Inspired by a hand-painted artwork unearthed in the Liberty archive, Pearl Tapestry is defined by flowing, Jacobean-style needlework blooms, where stylised motifs evoke the textural quality of embroidered thread. Reimagined in the London studio with the addition of delicate, pearl-like trails, this ornamental design takes on a subtle shimmer, echoing the grandeur of early 17th-century textiles.

Liberty Fabrics’ Shantung Silk is a crisp fabric with a textured, slubbed surface that gives an understated yet lustrous hand feel and luminous finish – making it the perfect pick for sophisticated eveningwear and modern tailoring.
