Editor's Notes

The Golden Dancing Ballerina Filigree Hoop Earrings from Les Néréides carry the hand-painted enamel and the eye for whimsical detail that have defined the Parisian maison since 1980.

Designed to mark 150 years of the Palais Garnier, this collaboration with the Opéra national de Paris is rendered in enamel and gold-tone brass. An openwork filigree flower sits at the lobe, and from it hangs a slim hoop wreathed in tiny blooms, framing a hand-enamelled ballerina in a white tutu, caught mid-dance with her arms outstretched in a nod to Giselle. Wear them alone or complete the ensemble with the matching Pink Ribbon Pendant Bracelet and the Lily Flower and Faceted Stone Pendant Necklace.

About Les Néréides
Les Néréides takes its name from the sea nymphs of Greek mythology, fifty sisters and no two alike. Founders Pascale and Enzo Amaddeo met as fine art students in Belgium in the seventies, both captivated by nature in all its beauty and bustle. In 1980 they opened their first boutique in Nice, and the natural world has been their muse ever since. Every collection is an ode to flowers, creatures and the sea, designed in the Paris studio and hand-enamelled petal by petal, wing by wing, using techniques inherited from haute joaillerie. Each piece is made to hold something: a memory, a season, a feeling you cannot quite name.
